CASTELLO DELLE SERRE – Rapolano di Serre

The keys to the Castel are yours…

It’s rare to find a place that’s both historic and one-of-a-kind. We’ve managed to do it and it will be your home for eight glorious days.  The castle was built on the remains of an ancient fortress (dating back to the Gothic wars 535 – 553) and sits atop Serre di Rapolano, an unspoiled Tuscan village.

The façade of the castle is pure travertine quarried locally and decorated with ornate iron works. The interior and grand halls and noble rooms have been painstakingly restored and decorated in heraldic motives while the vaulted rooms are decorated with angelic themes and virtues. It will literally take your breath away.

The castle consists of 20 double rooms (3 of which we have allocated for single use). There is a mix of Grand Suites, Junior Suites, Deluxe Doubles and Standard Rooms. The design theory at Castello delle Serre is based on devotion to preservation of the grandiose past with a tasteful infusion of modern comforts. All accommodations offer over-sized private bathrooms, finished in fine Italian marble or travertine stone. All accommodations offer air conditioning, hair dryer, free high-speed internet, telephone for external calls and daily maid service.

The castle boasts a spectacular pool area overlooking the Tuscan hills with numerous designer sun lounges. You’ll be spoilt for places to relax as next to the pool is the alfresco-loggia featuring a bar and stone tables with wrought iron chairs. Also, perched next to the pool area, is an intimate gazebo bordered by white marble columns wrapped in wisteria vine, with an outdoor sofa and chairs.

The hotel runs a fully stocked “honour bar” system but on non-function nights also welcomes you to enjoy your own drinks in the outdoor areas (just no glassware near the pool please).
